From Notting Hill Housing Trust
A valued team member and trainer, Laura Thomson, was working with Notting Hill Housing Trust and introduced us as they required some interim IT Training support.
We met with Nikki of Notting Hill who had identified that external IT courses were proving to be very expensive, and that most people didn’t need a whole course. For example, the Accounts department only needed help with pivot tables. We realised that an excellent way forward would be to run training surgeries.
Initially it was decided to run one surgery a month in half hour, one hour or two hour slots. The surgery proved to be so popular extra days were scheduled to two a month.
What is great about this is satisfying the needs and making a real difference to performance and efficiency. Excellent return on investment and now we have moved to another level whereby we can run short half day sessions on Intermediate Excel and Visio. On the estate we have been managing three versions of Microsoft 2003, 2007 and 2010. Due to great IT support this has been running smoothly.
As we move into 2012, we continue to work closely with training to ensure new requirements are met in true training partnership style.
Nikki says:- ‘I am delighted with the way the surgeries took off and the great feedback that we have received about them. We have yet to throw a problem at Merrill Consultants that they can’t deal with, and I really appreciate their knowledge and flexibility. I don’t have to worry about IT training, which is such a relief!’
